In the parkland surrounding majestic Alexandra Palace in north London,
I design and facilitate creative outdoor learning workshops for primary school classes: to help children form a deeper connection and understanding of the natural environment.

I also run Creativity In Nature sessions for teachers giving opportunities to explore how the outdoors can be used as an alternative and accessible place to develop meaningful creative learning, across the curriculum, and improve students and staff mental health and wellbeing.

In a beautiful community pasture in north London, bordering the busy North Circular road, local Primary Schools take part in creative outdoor learning sessions.

Sessions have been designed to give time for play and open research of the environment. Children have sensory experiences immersed in nature, which is important in the gaining of emotional strength and wellbeing.

Facilitating children to understand their world and their part in it is critical for the local community to sustain social and environmental action.

Working with vulnerable teenagers in small groups I facilitate therapeutic creative outdoor learning sessions in the school’s gardens, local woodland and parks.

Combining art and nature gives students accessible tools to explore their emotions, empathise with each other and look after their mental health.

Nature as Witness is a collective of ten artists from across the UK and Ireland who originally came together as a group online in May 2022 during a program run by @drawing_correspondence.

We all use drawing to explore our relationship with nature and nature’s relationship with us.  We celebrate nature’s beauty, but also reflect on what we can learn from it and how we are despoiling it.  In many of our works, nature isn’t just the subject, it is a collaborator.

In July 2023, just over a year after we met, we exhibited in a group show at No Format Gallery.
