I map the interaction and experience of children immersed in the landscape by creating drawings and prints, often large scale and made over time with many marks. The work starts with source material – photos and spoken words collected when I spend time collaborating with schools in parks and woodland in north London.
During the collaboration I’m afforded the privilege to witness a vital, beautiful and fragile relationship. Each footprint in the earth has an impact, and every outstretched hand that touches the trunk of a tree, all resonates and leaves a trace, in both the place and with the person.
